People are not saving for retirement

Americans these days are not saving up for retirement like they use too as according to CNN 49% of the American public does not save for retirement whatsoever.  They also added that these same people will have to rely on personal savings to make ends meet.  This is a freighting statistic as we all know that social security isn’t always go to be there to bail us out.

What’s also amazing and pretty scary is that young people these days refuse to put money into retirement as according to CNN 56% of 18-34 year olds are not contributing to retirement and that number is increasing.  It’s quite amazing considering that you need to start putting money into some kind of plan as soon as possible to get the most out of your money. 

It’s not really that hard to get started and contribute to it as any amount helps in the long run.  Just by putting in 20 bucks a month greatly helps as its better than nothing if that’s all you could afford.  If you have any money that you’re not touching put it into retirement as its better than recklessly spending it on something you don’t need.
